Hello to Parents and Staff of Oswald Road School,

I’m commenting to introduce myself – I’m the artist that will be working with school this term to create a mosaic feature for a green space close to school.

If you’re interested, you can see other mosaic work that I’ve produced on my website: http://www.traceycartledge.co.uk/products?tags=community+mosaic+projects

I also work locally with two other professinal artists as artHAUS. We have just started a new after school art club – ARTFUL SPLODGERS – that children from all the local schools are welcome to join. More details here: http://www.the-arthaus.co.uk/artfulsplodgers/

Hope to see you soon,

Tracey

I attended Oswald Road from approximately 1929 to 1935.We were called to the playground one day to see the R100 airship overhead.
In 1932, our music teacher walked up and down our desks, stopped by me, and said “Arnold, you are singing flat. In future, you will take your arithmetic and study in the corridor while we sing”.(I therefore later became a mathematician.

Hence to Whitworth Street, Manchester Central High School, and the LMS railway company as booking clerk, Salford station.
After WW2 flying with the Royal Air Force as a navigator, I graduated in mathematics at Oxford University, and have been a professional mathematician in Ottawa Canada since 1961.
Warm greetings to those who follow.
